Dear HOPE Friends,
Aaj News Puts the Spotlight on HOPE's Clean Water 💧Efforts - Featuring Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla and Sidra Iqbal
On March 22, 2025, HOPE Chairperson, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla met with Sidra Iqbal to spread awareness of the critical importance clean water 💧 plays in our health 🩺. Dr. Mubina specifically highlighted that drinking/using contaminated water is a potent breeding ground for harmful bacteria such as E. coli and coliform which lead to gastroenteritis 🤢 and diarrhea. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Pakistan’s water pipelines are not chlorinated and this puts the public at risk for the ill health effects of consuming polluted water. Undoubtedly, the vast burden of not having access to clean water 💧 falls upon underserved communities and further hinders their ability to break free from the tenacious grips of generational poverty ❤️🩹.
HOPE has been promoting Clean Water 💧 efforts in rural villages 🛖, remote mountainous regions 🏔️, and with inner city neighborhoods 🌆throughout Pakistan 🇵🇰 since 1997. These efforts have been made possible by our 20 year partnership with Procter & Gamble. P&G’s Purifier water sachets are a safe and effective method to remove harmful bacteria from polluted water and make it safe to consume ✅.
HOPE is the only NGO authorized to distribute P&G Purifier sachets to poor communities throughout Pakistan 🇵🇰, and over the course of 20 years, we have provided over 50 million liters of Purifier sachets to marginalized communities, including 21 million liters alone following the 2022 Pakistan 🇵🇰 Flood 🌊 Crisis.
Recently named as P&G’s South Asia Clean Water Champion 🏆, in this segment of Aaj News, Dr. Mubina encouraged the general public to take note of the detrimental effects of consuming contaminated water and take action to improve their health.
Warm regards,
The HOPE UK 🇬🇧🇵🇰, HOPE USA 🇺🇸🇵🇰, and HOPE Pakistan Teams 🇵🇰
