Dear HOPE Supporters,
HOPE is proud to have funded the purchase of a generator for its hospital in Zia Colony. The HOPE Zia Colony Hospital serves a population of over 70,000 people from the district of Korangi. HOPE Zia Colony Hospital primarily serves pediatric patients as well as expecting mothers. This hospital is the closest facility in the area which performs cesareans, DNC's, and other birth-related complicated procedures and operations. This hospital services 100 to 150 patients per day, of which at least 25 are admitted.
After the recent downpours of rain in Karachi, power outages (load shedding) occurred daily and lasted for 6 to 8 hours at a stretch. According to reports, load shedding was conducted in Baloch Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Mehmoodabad, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Korangi industrial area and other areas of Karachi after the rain. The purchase of a new generator for the hospital was of utmost benefit for surrounding community. The generator can maintain the electrical input of the hospital during periods of load-shedding. This is obviously critical during times of surgery and for the functioning of infant incubators and other equipment.
Below, please find some video testimonials of doctors and Zia Colony staff thanking HOPE for the generator:
Thank you all for your support and donations which made this possible!
Best regards,
Ambereen Siddiqui
