This year, the HOPE Team invites you to step into the magical world of charity 💕 and run towards the banquet of blessings ✨ God has spread out for you.
No matter how difficult our individual circumstances may be, it takes just a moment of awareness to realize that all of us are blessed ✨ in ways beyond our comprehension. If we find ourselves feeling even just a breath of despair, we should quickly awaken from that slumber of heedlessness, that most low and despicable place, and make our pasture in the field of hope where we shall remain forever ~ Imam Ghazali (رحمة الله عليه).
Giving charity is a win-win, both the recipient and giver benefit, and arguably, the giver may benefit more as: Any good we do, it is for ourselves (Quran 17:7).
But how can one ensure that their donations are going towards those in need and being maximized and going towards the causes we intend (i.e., not being spent on administrative expenses or marketing)? A bit of research and background homework is always a good idea - a 501(c)(3)'s IRS 990s are public record and one can easily distinguish between organizations which are operating in good faith and those which leave much to be desired. Additionally, disparities often exist in the levels of impact, oftentimes it's the smaller and lesser known organizations which are producing results, albeit in a quiet and less pompous way. What glitters is not always gold, and the same is true in the competitive world of nonprofits.
This Ramadan ☪️ we invite you to see the potential impact you can make with HOPE UK:
🔶 In 2024, we were blessed to be able to provide poverty alleviation services to 1,000,000 beneficiaries, 70% of whom were women 🧕🏻 and children 🧒🏻 .
🔶 Our poverty alleviation model relies upon multiple avenues of support to the needy - we realize that poverty is complex and we employ a multi-pronged approach to combat it which includes Healthcare 🩺, Education 🎓, Vocational Training 💻, Clean Water💧, Food Security 🍱, Disaster Relief 🆘, Ramadan Outreach ☪️, and Qurbani 🐐.
🔶 In 2021, we were recognized by Pakistan 🇵🇰 President Arif Alvi for our poverty alleviation impact in Pakistan 🇵🇰- we were 1 of just 2 organizations in Pakistan to receive this distinction 🥇.
🔶 As a volunteer-run organization, we are working hard to make sure that your donations are maximized 📈and reaching the poor. We are humbled to have an administrative/overhead rate of less than 3%, which is almost unheard of in the nonprofit realm.
During the month of Ramadan ☪️, we strive to go the extra mile to try to alleviate the plight of the needy ❤️🩹, especially since charity ✨is one of the most fundamental aspects of the month and so critical in Islam ⭐.
Our Zakat-Eligible Ramadan ☪️ Outreach efforts for this year include the following:
🔷 For Just £25 You Can Sponsor Food Rations 🍱 for a Family of 8 for One Month.
🔷 For Just £1 You Can Sponsor a Hot Meal 🥘 Delivered to a Needy Person This Ramadan ☪️
🔷 For Just £11, You Can Help an Underprivileged Child 🧒🏻feel Included and Special with a Gift 🎁 of New Eid Clothes 👘
We also use Zakat ❤️🩹 year-round for a multitude of Zakat-eligible ❤️🩹 causes such as sponsoring a life-saving surgery for a needy person 🏥, providing education 🎓 to a disadvantaged child 👩🏻🎓, building houses 🏡 for widows and needy families, sponsoring doctor's visits 👩🏻⚕️ and purchasing medicines 💊 for the poor - any service/good in which the recipient becomes owner of the benefit.
